PLAY BASED/EMERGENT CURRICULUM
Our goal is to provide a safe and loving environment where children are given the opportunity to play and have fun. It is through play that children construct knowledge and understanding of the world around them. Play is of most importance in the early years where children will grow strong social-emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.
For young children, nothing is real until it is experienced. Rather than telling a child how something works; we provide them with the opportunity for meaningful hands-on experiences so they can effectively commit them to memory.
By allowing children to learn through self-discovery, peer-to-peer engagement, and experimentation with their environment, we gain valuable insight into their developmental progress. By observing children's pattern choices we come to know them intimately and authentically. This real relationship we establish with our students gives us access to the individual child's world and what skills and knowledge they are currently working on, and what challenges they may need some gentle guidance with.
PLAY IS THE WORK OF THE CHILD
